Hurt

on

From hours it turned to minutes,

The stories turned to glimpses

He could only watch in despair as

He saw the bond shatter and diminish.

Is forever this small?

He kept asking himself again and again

He had promised like every other to stretch it out,

But there’s only so long a person can crawl.

He thought he was strong enough

Enough to hold this tie

But you see, he turned out an emotional fool

And holding on is really tough.

So many times it has happened before

Though never like this

The pressure became too much on the chest

Too much for him to bore.

He still thinks of keeping it alive

Still willing to bare his soul

Does that make me an idiot, he thought

It will always crash and burn, it isn’t meant to thrive.

He’s never shed before for a man,

For there was not a lot like him

He wondered where he went wrong

Why it was wrecked before it even began.

This was the worst and the end, yet he prayed

It was pitiful because everyone knew,

It didn’t just happen

This distance was deliberately made.
